Summer began the beginning of May with temperatures in the mid 80’s and no precipitation. By the middle of May it was constant rain and temperatures dipping into the 40’s resulting in chilling damage on annuals. June returned to a more familiar weather pattern with rain punctuated by sunny days in the 70’s. Our Panicum block came through the winter in relatively good shape; losing only seven individual entries. The Schizachyrium block was accidentally ‘weeded’ out by well meaning students. I now have all of the replacements on site and will b gin installing tomorrow.
